Cassey Ruff, MScPT, BSc (Hons) Kin

Physiotherapist

Casey graduated from Simon Fraser University with a B.Sc. Kinesiology (Hon) with Distinction in 2012.
Since graduating from the University of Alberta with a M.Sc. Physiotherapy degree in 2015, Casey has been working in Nanaimo as a physical therapist with multiple interests in adult and paediatric conditions including MSK, concussions, cerebral palsy, and medical conditions.

Physical therapy is Casey’s 3rd career spanning from being a cowboy, professional level athlete and as a nationally licensed tradesman. His multiple injuries in sport limited his athletic career but provided him firsthand experience with recovering from many injuries.
His sport and health resume includes sports therapy and performance training for the Vancouver Whitecaps Pre-residency program, the Canadian Professional Rodeo Sports Medicine Team, the World Police and Fire Games, BC Ride to Conquer Cancer, multiple BC Games, multiple marathons, and has been the physiotherapist for the Nanaimo Hornets Rugby Club since 2018.
Casey is also involved with teaching musculoskeletal assessment for the BC Association of Kinesiologists, and is an instructor for the kinesiology department at VIU, where he teaches a fourth year course on Active Rehabilitation.

Casey also spends his time providing volunteer based physical therapy consultation to paediatric patients and their families through paediatric outreach clinics in Nanaimo.

In his off-time, Casey is frequently adventuring with his family, mountain biking, fishing, tinkering in his shop, building on his acreage, and keeping up with healthcare science.
