Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is a referral needed for physiotherapy?

    No.

    You no longer need a referral from a physician to receive physiotherapy. Some Extended Health Plans request that you obtain a referral prior to treatment if you are going to be claiming reimbursement.

  • Where is the clinic located?

    On the outskirts of Parksville, just off the Alberni Hwy. (No. 4) at Allsbrook Centre Plaza.

  • What about parking, access and handicap parking?

    There is plenty of free parking in front of the clinic and excess parking in the gravel lot at the rear of the plaza.

    You can access the clinic by turning left onto Bellevue Rd.(off of the Alberni Hwy.), then the next left on Allsbrook Rd. Proceed into the plaza, and turn left at the front of the building.

    There is also a dedicated handicap parking stall located at the rear of the clinic.

  • Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?

    • Physician’s referral (if you have received one)
    • CareCard number
    • Extended heathcare benefits card (if you have an extended healthcare plan)
    • Shorts – If you are being treated for a lower limb issue
    • Shoes/Orthotics – If you have a lower extremity injury related to a sport, it may be helpful for you to bring whatever shoes (including orthotics) you use to participate in that sport

    Yes, we can direct bill most extended healthcare plans.

  • How much physiotherapy coverage do I have with my extended healthcare plan?

    Every policy is different and how much coverage you have will vary for each plan. We are unable to access specific information for your individual policy.

    Please contact your plan administrator for detailed information on your specific coverage.

  • How long will I be in the clinic for each session?

    This depends on the injury and type of treatment you require; however, expect to be in the clinic for approximately 40-45 minutes for your initial session and 20-30 minutes for a subsequent appointment, as recommended by your therapist.

  • How many treatments will I need?

    Every condition is individually evaluated based on the person and severity of their condition, and individual circumstances.

    Your physiotherapist will advise you of an appropriate treatment plan after your initial assessment.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    We require at least 24 hours notice for canceling or rescheduling your appointment.

    There may be a charge for any missed or late appointments.
